2 expo's in 1 dus. En weete wa nog? Gratis inkom ! 

De expo loopt van 17 februari tot 3 maart 2024, in Tentoonstellingszaal CC (het SteM dus, Zwijgershoek 14 te Sint-Niklaas) . De openingsuren vind je op de flyer hieronder. De foto op de flyer werd door Stefan Snick gemaakt. 

De vernissage is op zondag 18 februari 2024 om 10u30. C ya there?

Vwalla , there, I said it.
Via de fotoclub leerde ik de Leo Baekeland tenstoonstelling kennen. Onze voorzitter spoort de leden nogal aan om deel te nemen aan verschillende wedstrijden of expo's, zoals deze.

Ik was 1 van de 22 laureaten. Samen met 2 andere leden van onze Fotogroep Waasland , Staf Devriese & Mien Roose .

Gisteren was de vernissage van de Leo Baekeland expo. Ik denk dat ik, met mijn 45 jaartjes, de jongste was van alle laureaten daar. Den baby van den hoop.

Anyway, de vernissage verliep heel goed. Stipt op tijd (we haalden nog net het begin, oef), enkele speeches, en de kinderen konden de lekkere hapjes wel appreciëren.

Achteraf werd ik meermaals aangesproken en gefeliciteerd door verschillende mensen. *bloos*
O.a. door 1 van de schepenen van Gent, Rudy Coddens. Die stond net zelf foto's van mijn reeks te maken Betrapt! Een madame zei me dat ze me herkende aan mijn sjakosj , omdat die ook rood was, zoals de koord. Een meneer zei me vlak erna dat hij wist dat ik het was door mijn rode lipstick, net zoals de koord. Precies 50 Tinten Rood daar.

Er hingen mooie werkjes.

Sinds enkele dagen hangen er enkele foto's van mij in Ikea Wilrijk. Ter ere van hun vernieuwde showroom mogen daar een 20tal lokale kunstenaars hun werk tentoon stellen, waaronder ikke. *trots*

Ik heb nog niet alle werken zien hangen, maar heb al wel wat talent gezien, wauw. De rest ga ik binnekort rustig bekijken.

Zelf ontdekken? Dat kan nog tot eind augustus 2023 in Ikea Wilrijk, op de 1e verdieping. Mijn foto's hangen vlak naast de ingang van het restaurant. Perfecte plaats voor mij, toch? Hehe. (voor zij die mij niet kennen : ik eet al eens graag iets lekkers)

I had a day off. We decided to go and visit Lokeren. Why? Dunno. No particular reason . Just close by, not well known and we sure as hell didn't know anything there. Except for Lokerse Feesten, a festival, but that's a whole different vibe.

Our impression : one thing we noticed is there are lotsa empty buildings. Also the post office. Which is a beautiful building on the outside. A peek through the window made us clear we were to late to see the beauty inside. It's completely stripped. Damn.

We strolled on, without any particular destination.

Lokeren has many cool doors.

An than... an old building catches my eye. (no worries, I took it back : MY eye) Beautiful old glas work, some decay,...I wondered what it looked like on the inside. A door was open, so (you know me) we walked inside. We saw some guys sitting together at the inner courtyard, looking strange at us (" who is that and what are those tourists doing here?"). So I explain I was intrigued by the building.
One of them asks us if we want a tour. Hell yeah!!

Wow. Wow. And wow!

The building is old, fully in renovation. Mostly by reused materials

He takes us to a kinda chapel in which there were tables and a bar. Our guide told us they organise parties over there. Sick!

The place is for youngsters to meet each other and do cool stuff, to keep them of the streets and let them do interesting things. It's called Vagevuur (meaning purgatory). Also (young) adults are welcome and can get help there if needed. At the moment they are building a music studio, there is a space to do action painting, a room to have a serious talk,....

There is a inner courtyard which seems perfect for late laid back summer nights. There even is an outside pizza oven! (pineapple, anyone? )

I immediately felt at home. Was it the messy feeling?

Those kind of initiatives need to be supported! I told them to let me know when the place is more or less finished. So I can take some pics for them, for their socials or whatever. And for me it's a good exercise. AND the perfect excuse to go back

Op mijn eigen website. *trots*

Na lang twijfelen, lanceerde ik vandaag de Kerstmini's. 2 van de 6 plaatsjes waren al meteen geboekt, binnen het uur. Hoe tof is da?! Woehoew!

En dat met die amateuristische "flyer" die ik rappekes maakte. Daar is nog wat werk aan, mijn designskills. Maar heej, ik maak foto's, geen ontwerpen, daar ben ik ni goe in. Moh echt....

Anyway, hier kan je mijn stadsverkenningskes enzo volgen.
